You can take antihistamines like diphenhydramine which is given in IV. The severe reactions can be reversed with oral diphenhydramine. Corticosteroids can be used to reduce the effects of mediators and swelling due to allergic reactions. Oral corticosteroids can be used in less severe skin reactions. Other medications can also be used like cromolyn sodium nasal spray to prevent inflammation. The sinus drainage can be reduced with the help of decongestants.
